Romans 3:23 All
people have sinned and are not good
enough for God's glory.
Matthew 22:39
And the second command is like the first:"Love your neighbor as you love
yourself.''
Life of Jesus
story #20
The Glory of
Jesus
·
Jesus knew that
God had a special plan for him.
·
Soon his time
on earth would be over.
·
Jesus told his
disciples that he would be leaving them.
·
They would
carry on his work. The disciples did not understand.
·
They wondered
why he was saying these things.
·
About a week
later Jesus went up to a mountain to pray.
·
He took his
disciples Peter John and James with him.
·
After a while
the disciples fell asleep.
·
Jesus went on
praying. While he was praying his face changed.
·
It was shining like the sun. His clothes became
a brilliant white.
·
Suddenly Moses
and the prophet Elijah were there and speaking with him.
·
They
talked about what would happen when
Jesus died.
·
Peter and the
other two disciples woke up.
·
They saw how
glorious Jesus was. They saw Moses and Elijah.
·
Then the shadow
of a cloud passed over them.
·
A voice spoke
from the cloud: This is my chosen Son. Listen to what he says.
·
Peter John and
James were so afraid when they heard the
voice that they fell flat on the ground.
·
Jesus came over
and touched them.
·
He said, Get up
and don't be afraid.
·
When they
opened their eyes they saw only Jesus.
·
He looked the
same way he had before.
·
Then they all
began to go down from the mountain.
·
Jesus told the
others not to say a word about what had happened.
·
So they didn't
say anything until after he had died and risen from the dead.
