samuel and samson


Losing the Holy Box 1 Samuel 4
·        When had grown up, there was a war.
·        God's people decided to the Holy Box into the battle.
·        When they did this they did not follow God's rules.
·        Guess what? The enemy captured the Holy box  of God and took it home with them.
·        God's people were sad.
 
·        God's people knew the rules; however, they decided not to follow the rules.
Samson Judge 13:1-5 Judge 13: 24-25
·        One of the leaders of God's people was chosen before he was born.
·        An angel told the mother,''You will have a son;  however, you must never cut his hair. 
·        His long hair will show that he's a Nazirite- someone who has work to do for God.''
·        This baby grew up to be very strong.
·        His name was Samson and he always won against his enemies.
·        It too bad Samson was not as smart as he was strong.
·        He was about to get in a bunch of big trouble.

samuel listen god


Samuel Listens to God 1 Samuel 3
·        One night Samuel was asleep. However, He heard something a voice.
·        The voice was calling, Samuel.
·        Samuel get right up and ran to Eli. ''here I am Eli! Did you call me?''
·        Eli said''I didn't call you Samuel. ''
·        So Samuel ran back and got into bed.
·        But he heard that voice again.
·        He ran to Eli again. However, Eli said, ''I did not call you Samuel.''
·        By now Samuel was wide awake.
·        He heard that voice Again- Samuel
·        Samuel got right up, He ran to Eli.
·        ''Here I am Eli. Did you call me?'' Samuel asked.
·        Eli said, ''If you hear that voice again, say this:  Speak Lord. I'm listening.'' '' All right ''said, Samuel.
·        Now that voice called his name again! ''Samuel Samuel.''
·        Speak Lord I'm listening.'' he said.
·        Eli was right. God had been calling.
·        Samuel listened carefully. He did his best to remember every word God had to say.
·        As he grew up Samuel listened to God had to say!
·        As he grew up, Samuel listened to God-and obeyed.
·        God is happy when we obey Him.
·        We can learn how to obey God by listening to His Word.

Story of Samuel #1
¨      Samuel lived with Hannah and her husband Elkanah for the first few years of his life.
¨      Then Hannah kept her promise. She took Samuel to stay with Eli, where could serve God.
¨      God was kind to Hannah. He gave her three more children.
¨      In addition, Hannah saw Samuel every year when she went to pray at Shiloh.
¨      Hannah always brought Samuel a new coat.
¨      Hannah made it  for Samuel.
¨      Samuel grew and learned.
¨      Samuel listened to the Lord and obeyed Him.

Hannah's Boy 1 Samuel 1:19-28  1 Samuel 2:19
·        Hannah's prayer was answered.
·        She had a baby boy and named him Samuel, which means, God heard.
·        When Samuel was about three years old, Hannah took him to Eli, the priest at the Holy Tent.
·        Hannah loved Samuel very much.
·        Every year she made him she made a new coat.
·        Hannah kept her promise to God by taking Samuel to Eli, God had big plans for Samuel.

Hannah's prayer 1 Samuel 1:1-18
·        One  day a woman named Hannah went to God's Holy Tent to pray.
·        She asked God for a baby son.
·        She promised God her son would work for Him all his life.
·        Eli the priest saw her praying.
·        He thought there was something wrong
·        Hannah told him she was very sad and talking to God about her troubles.
·        Eli said, ''May the Lord give you what you want.''
·        Hannah was not sad anymore.
