It was passover the time when God's people remembered how God has rescued them from being slaves in Egypt. Every year they killed a lamb and ate it. The lamb died instead of us they would say. But this passover God was getting ready for an even Greater Rescue. Therefore, Jesus and his friends were having the passover meal together in an upstairs room but Jesus friends were arguing. What about They were arguing about stinky feet. Quickly Jesus got up from the table took off his robe picked up a basin of water knelt down and started wash his friends feet.

 They couldn't believe their luck when one of Jesus' disciples turned traitor.

The traitor was Judas Iscariot.

He told the enemies I'll take you to him when there were no crowds.

They agreed to give Judas thirty silver pieces as a reward

Life of Jesus story  #24

The Temple building stood in a vast courtyard. This was the only place where non-Jews could pray. Here money-chargers had set up their scales and traders sold lambs and birds for Temple sacrifices. They often charged too much and made an unfair profit. Jesus knew what he had to do. He strode into the Temple and threw them all out. You've turned the house of prayer into a robbers den he shouted. This was very thing the Old Testament preachers had said the Messiah would do. The religious leaders trembled. We must kill him they said. Jesus spent the night the night back in Bethany. Jesus throws the traders out of the temple.. In addition, Jesus went back to the Temple courtyard and talked to the crowds of people. The Pharisees and Sadducees tried to trap him with trick questions but he was too clever for them.

Life of Jesus story #23

Sunday: Jesus rode into Jerusalem amid cheering crowd. He looked around the Temple and then  left his friends to spend the night in Bethany. In addition, Jesus sent two of his friends ahead of him to Bethany. As you enter the town you'll see a young donkey he said, untie it and bring it to me. Jesus planned to ride the last part of the journey into Jerusalem. When Jesus rode over the top the Mount of Olives and saw Jerusalem ahead he wept One day he said you will be in ruins. Forty years later Jesus words came true.

·         Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet

·         but be shouted all the more son of David have mercy

·         on me. Jesus stopped and said call him.

·         So they called to the blind man. Cheer up

·         On your feet He's calling you.

·         Throwing his cloak aside he jumped to

·         his feet and came to Jesus.  what do you want me  do for

·         you Jesus asked him. The Blind man said rabbi I want to see.

·         Go said, Jesus   your faith has healed you

·         Immediately he received his sight and followed

·         along to read.

The Glory of Jesus

·         Jesus knew that God had a special plan for him.

·         Soon his time on earth would be over.

·         Jesus told his disciples that he would be leaving them.

·         They would carry on his work. The disciples did not understand.

·         They wondered why he was saying these things.

·         About a week later Jesus went up to a mountain to pray.

·         He took his disciples Peter John and James with him.

·         After a while the disciples fell asleep.

·         Jesus went on praying. While he was praying his face changed.

·         It  was shining like the sun. His clothes became a brilliant white.

·         Suddenly Moses and the prophet Elijah were there and speaking with him.

·         They talked  about what would happen when Jesus died.

·         Peter and the other two disciples woke up.

·         They saw how glorious Jesus was. They saw Moses and Elijah.

·         Then the shadow of a cloud passed over them.

·         A voice spoke from the cloud: This is my chosen Son. Listen to what he says.

·         Peter John and James  were so afraid when they heard the voice that they fell flat on the ground.

·         Jesus came over and touched them.

·         He said, Get up and don't be afraid.

·         When they opened their eyes they saw only Jesus.

·         He looked the same way he had  before.

·         Then they all began to go down  from the mountain.

·         Jesus told the others not to say a word about what had happened.

·         So they didn't say anything until after he had died and risen from the dead.

Jesus teaches on prayer Luke 11:1-13

·         Jesus often went away quietly to pray to God,

·         His Father One day Jesus friends saw him praying.

·         They said Lord teach us to pray.

·         Jesus said, when you pray pray like this

·         our father in heaven we love and respect.

·         Your  name we want you be king over us always.

·         Give us what we need for this day.

·         Forgive the wrong things we do.

·         We forgive people who did wrong to us.

·         Please protect us from doing wrong.

·         Help us to do right. Amen.

·         Jesus said ask God for what you need.

·         Be brave don't give up you knock on a

·         door until it opens so in the same way

·         keep on asking God expect him to answer.

·         if your child asked you for bread would you

·         give your child a rock instead of course not

·         you give good  things your children. and

·         remember God is your father.  he is the

·         very best father. he loves you and wants

·         to give you what is best.

Jesus heals

·         Another time Jesus spat on some dirt to make mud which he put on the eyes of a  blind man making able to see.

·         Jesus healed in different ways Sometimes he just commanded be healed and sometimes  he put his hands on the suffering person Once in a great crowd of people a woman touched the hem of his cloak and  she was healed.

·         Jesus healed people without any fuss he did not use long prayers special  words or ceremonies he simply asked people to trust him. Then he often told them not to talk known as a wonder worker He wanted people to see the miracles as signs which pointed to truths about God.

·         Jesus heals a blind man.

·         A  woman teaches the hem of Jesus cloak.

·         Jesus forgave man's sins.

Jesus heals a Blind Man

·        Jesus and his friends saw a blind man.

·        He could not see or work or play.

·        Jesus' friends asked Jesus why is this man blind Did he do something wrong.

·        Jesus said, no God is about to do something wonderful in his life.

·        Then Jesus spit on the ground.

·        He made some mud from the dust.

·        He put the mud on the man's eyes.

·        Jesus said to the man go walk  to the pool of water called Siloam.

·        Wash the mud away. So the man went feeling his way along.

·        He got to the pool. He washed off the mud.

·        Do you know what happened He could see.

·        Everyone who saw the man was Amazed.

·        You look like the blind man who used to sit right here they said.

·        Yes He said I am the same man. Jesus made my eyes to see.

·        Later Jesus found the man. He said Do you believe in me.

·        The man knew Jesus' voice. Here was the One who had made his eyes to see.

·        The man said Lord I believe. Jesus loves us.

·        He wants to help us in wonderful ways.

·        the man in charge One of the servants dipped a

·        cup into the water and took it  to the man

·        The man drank from the cup but it was not

·        water he tasted it was wine.

·        He did not know where the wine

·        had come from but the servants did.

·        The man called the bridegroom  over

·        and said this wine is better than the

·        wine we drank earlier you kept the

·        best until last and so it in Cana

·        that Jesus showed his glory and

·        his disciples put their faith in him.

¨       There was a wedding in the village of Cana in

¨       Galilee Mary the mother of Jesus of Jesus went

¨       to the wedding so did Jesus and his disciples.

¨       The party went on for a long time. Then Mary

¨       was that the wine was all gone.

¨       She told Jesus. Jesus saw six large

¨       stone water jars. He asked the

¨       servants to fill the  jars up to the top with water.

¨       The servants went back and forth to the well to get

¨       water. It took a while to the fill water jars.

¨       They held twenty to thirty gallons each.

¨       Then Jesus said, take some water and give

¨       it to the  man in charge.

Life of Jesus Story #13 from the Jesus Storybook Bible  #1

Filled full (The feeding of the 5,000 from Matthew 14 Mark  6 Luke 9 part 1

¨       There were once 5,000 tired and hungry and probably very  grumpy people sitting on a

¨       hillside wanting their dinner. They'd come to hear Jesus that day. They came before

¨       breakfast stayed all morning all afternoon and way past dinner. No one had meant

¨       to be out there that long but that's how it was listening to Jesus as if time didn't exist.

¨       People could listen to Jesus for hours and on this particular day that's just what they did.

¨       But they hadn't brought enough food and they couldn't just go and buy themselves a burger

¨       and fries to go because of course they were in the middle of nowhere with no shops or restaurants

¨       (Beside that kind of food wasn't invented yet.) What would they do? Jesus friends had an idea.

¨       ''Let's send everyone home for dinner.'' ''They don't need to go'' Jesus said. ''You can give them something to  eat.''

¨       Did Jesus want them to travel all the  way to town and buy food for everyone Jesus friends panicked But we don't have enough money.''

¨       What food do you have? Jesus asked Go and see. Now there was a little boy in the crowd.

¨       He had brought a lunch that his mother had made for him that morning. He looked at his five loaves and two fish. It wasn't much not nearly enough for 5,000 but was all  he had. ''I have some.'' he said.

¨       Jesus friends laughed when they saw his little lunch. that's not nearly enough they said.

¨       But they were wrong Jesus knew it didn't matter how much the little boy had. God would make it enough more than enough.
