psalm 91- 93
Psalm 91New
International Version (NIV)
Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells
in the shelter of the Most High will rest in
the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my
fortress, my God, in whom
I trust.”
3 Surely he will
save you from the
fowler’s snare and from the
deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his
feathers, and under his
wings you will find refuge; his
faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror
of night, nor the arrow
that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in
the darkness, nor the plague
that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at
your right hand, but it will not
come near you. 8 You will only observe with your
eyes and see the
punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say,
“The Lord is my
refuge,” and you make
the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster
will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his
angels concerning you to guard you in
all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their
hands, so that you
will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and
the cobra; you will
trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves
me,” says the Lord, “I will
rescue him; I will protect
him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will
answer him; I will be with
him in trouble, I will deliver
him and honor him. 16 With long life I will
satisfy him and show him my
salvation.”
1 It is good to praise theLord and make musicto your name,O Most High, 2 proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, 3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
4 For you make me glad by your deeds,Lord; I sing for joyat what your hands have done. 5 How great are your works,Lord, how profound your thoughts! 6 Senseless peopledo not know, fools do not understand, 7 that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
8 But you,Lord, are forever exalted.
9 For surely your enemies,Lord, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered. 10 You have exalted my horn[b]like that of a wild ox; fine oilshave been poured on me. 11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
12 The righteous will flourishlike a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of theLord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruitin old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “TheLordis upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
Footnotes:
Psalm 93
1 TheLordreigns,he is robed in majesty; theLordis robed in
majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. 2 Your throne was establishedlong ago; you are from all eternity.
3 The seashave lifted
up,Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. 4 Mightier than the thunderof the great waters, mightier than the breakersof the sea— theLordon high is
mighty.
5 Your statutes,Lord, stand firm; holinessadorns your
house for endless days.
