Seven 'Signs'

To a Jew the number  seven was a very important number. It stood for perfection. John wrote about seven miracles Jesus performed which he called signs. They showed that Jesus was the perfect son of God.

Sign 1: Jesus changed water into wine at a wedding.   (John 2:1-11)

        

·        Sign 2: Jesus healed a sick a very sick boy.                    (John 4:46-54)

          

·        Sign 3: Jesus healed a man who had not been able to walk for 38 years. (John 5:1-16)

                     

                                

·        Sign 4: Jesus made a meal for 5,000 people from five barley loaves and two fish. (John 6:1-15)

         

·        Sign 5: Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee. (John 6:16-21)

          

·        Sign 6: Jesus made a blind man see. (John 9)

·        Sign 7: Jesus brought Lazarus back to life (John 11:12-44)
