Jesus carried the cross through the
streets of Jerusalem. Jesus was made to carry the heavy wooden cross on which
he would be crucified, through the streets of Jerusalem and out of city gates.
He fell down and Simon from Cyrene was forced to help carry the cross. Jesus
had an extra pain to bear as well. As he
hung on the cross, he carried the sin which separated people from God. Two
thieves were crucified with Jesus. One made fun of him. The other said, We
deserve our fate but this man is innocent And he said to Jesus, Remember me
when you come to your kingdom Jesus replied Today you will be with me in
paradise. Luke 23:44-46 By this time it
was noon and darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock. The light
from the sun was gone. And suddenly the thick veil hanging in the Temple was
torn apart. Then Jesus shouted Father I entrust my spirit into your hands. And
with those words he breathed his last.
