You shall not murder. Are you thinking Well I'm safe on this one. I've never murdered anyone Good don't  But look at this commandment in a broader way. Maybe you've never pulled a gun on someone and taken her actual life away. But what about killing someone's spirit with angry  words or a spiteful attitude? What about crushing someone's self image with the nasty things you say about the m Murder can take many forms Think about the way you treat others both to their faces and behind their bucks. Think about the way you treat your parents and your brothers and sisters Whew Maybe you don't feel so innocent anymore huh.


Dear God okay If I think about murdering someone's self image or their spirit I'm  not so innocent I don't want to hurt anyone Help me think about the way I treat others and the way I make them feel   amen.  

 You shall not commit adultery The Scripture verse for today is God's seventh commandment When your mom and dad got married they made a promise to love each other no matter what It is not God's desire for married couples to separate or get divorced and this law is important in keeping families together As a young girl you can learn from this Don't give in to peer pressure when your friends encourage you to do things that you know are wrong Rather follow God's Rules. He made these rules for your benefit While sometimes it may feel like you are missing out on the fun God gave us His commandment to ensure that we live healthy happy lives. 

Dear God please help people who are married to stay true to each other and please help me never to give in to peer pressure Amen.

Honor your father and mother.
Hey God you obviously don't know my father and mother or would never say that Yeah He does He gave them to you. So they're not perfect neither are you. God gave you parents to  teach you how to live They take care of you. provide for you love you and try help you grow up to be a productive young woman Remember you may not always be easy to love and live with either. God wants you to honor your parents that means respect them don't talk back to them obey the rules they lay down for you. Don't talk bad about them to your friends really it will make your life so much better in the long run. Dear God sometimes my parents really make me mad. Some of their rules seem so pointless honoring them isn't always easy I'm gonna need Your   help for this Amen.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Sunday is the Sabbath day for our Christian faith We call it God's day we go to church and sunday school and that's pretty much it. The rest of the we pretty much do whatever we want After going to school or working all week  we consider Saturday and Sunday to be our free day. So we give God the two hours or so of church time and the rest of Sunday is ours. God intended that His Day be a day we spend thinking about Him studying His Word being with His people and honoring Him. How can you do that Can you spend at least some of the after church part of His day doing something with Him or for Him Think about it Make a list of things you might do and get your family and friends involved. Dear God I don't give You much time out of Your day. Give me ideas of ways or honor your day Amen.

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. How many times a day do you hear someone say something like God I'm tired or Oh my God that's awesome Yeah probably hundreds God's name has become an exclamation point in our world today. People say His name all the time without even thinking about it. They are misusing God's holy God's name that way when you hear it so often. One way of obeying God is to be careful how you speak His name Use his to praise Him to call on Him and to speak with Him. Don't use it to  declare how you're feeling or anything else. Dear God I hear people say Your name like that all the time. Sometimes I even slip and say it that way or think it I'm sorry I want to honor your holy name and never misuse it Amen. 

APRIL 3

You shall not make for yourself an idol. If  you are a Christian that means you have asked Jesus    to live in your heart He does that in the form of the Holy Spirit His gift  to us when He went back to heaven. Since the Spirit lives in your heart there's no need  to make any kind of statue or image and worship it. Of course our churches have crosses and other images that remind us of what God has done for us but we don't worship those images Don't let anything bring God down to a human size He's bigger than all of us bigger than the world bigger than the universe, Dear God I don't think I make an idol of anything but if i do tell me I want you to be all I worship Amen.

Dear God sometimes my heart is divided Sometimes I live for you and sometimes I don't Teach me  how to  always live for you and to keep my heart focuses on you Amen.
